Status Vs Wealth Games

If you need to show off how good your life is, you’re playing Status Games.

You can play status games by posting your cool pictures on social media, engaging in politics & power games amongst peers & society in general.

While playing status games, usually, you need to pull someone down to gain something.

Mostly, status games are superficial.

That’s one of the reasons I deactivated my Instagram account — because somehow, I started feeling I was getting into status games.

On the other hand, if you make enough money that it’ll take care of you without you lifting a single finger, you’re playing Wealth Games.

It includes building your stock portfolios, business, real estate investments, etc.

While playing wealth games, you don’t need to pull someone down to gain something. Everyone can become wealthy together.

Playing status games is a constant juggling act — to prove that I’m better than you, I live a better life than you, etc.

Playing wealth games is about maturity. You compete with yourself, live a peaceful life & enjoy a good night’s sleep.

“Status games are zero-sum. Wealth games are positive-sum.”
— Naval Ravikant

Status games give you validation. (Mostly, you’re seeking validation.)

Wealth games do not give you validation. (Mostly, you’re not seeking validation in the first place.)

You choose what you want to play.

The question is: Will you chase superficial validation or build lasting wealth?

Make the right choice — starting today!
